I am a media analyst. I founded and lead the association Women in media with the aim of supporting female journalists and strengthening the representation of women in leadership positions where decisions are made about what and how the czech media will write and broadcast.

The share of women in the management of czech newsrooms is still very low – out of the 28 most influential newsrooms, only two have a female editor-in-chief, while in the UK it is around 35% and in the US it is 44%. That is why we are trying to change this situation. We conducted research mapping the main obstacles that women in newsrooms encounter and compiled a manual to support diversity in Czech newsrooms. Over the course of three years, we have prepared 15 workshops for female journalists, 10 debates and 4 round tables in Prague and Brno.

In addition to Women in media, I serve on the board of directors of the Independent Press Foundation, which co-owns Deník N and the weekly Respekt.
