About me

Communication Manager at MUNER – Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna and Communication & Strategy Officer of its Gender & Diversity Empowerment Committee. I work on institutional communication and initiatives promoting gender equality and diversity in STEM and automotive/engineering education.

Topic: Communicating Gender Equality in STEM: Visibility, narratives, and alliances for change

In many STEM sectors – particularly in automotive and motorsport – the gender gap is still significant. Communication plays a crucial role in addressing this challenge: it shapes narratives, builds awareness, and helps create alliances between universities, industry and institutions.
From my experience in institutional communication at MUNER – Motor Valley University of Emilia Romagna, a network connecting leading universities and major automotive companies in Italy’s Motor Valley – I have seen how communication can open spaces and change perceptions in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
One key aspect is visibility: if you cannot see yourself represented somewhere, it becomes much harder to imagine that space as a possible future. Clear communication of initiatives, language, and representation helps create a cultural shift, enabling more young women to see STEM and mobility as fields where they can belong and grow.
During this mentoring session, I will explore how communication can actively support gender equality in technical sectors, amplify impact through alliances between education and industry, and use narratives and visibility to foster inclusive environments. We will also look at concrete examples from automotive and mobility campaigns which illustrate how communication can contribute to cultural change and inclusion.
